Description of Product For a unique Japanese product to use in your home, consider trying the Nawrap Binchotan Dishcloths. Infused with binchotan charcoal, these dishcloths naturally repel odors, making them long-lasting and fresh-smelling even when constantly damp. With 6 layers of material, these dishcloths offer extra absorbency and durability. The temporary starch coating applied during production prevents shifting of the layers initially, giving the dishcloths a stiff/crispy feel which softens with use. To expedite the softening process, soak the dishcloths in boiling water a few times. While these dishcloths are washing machine safe, please avoid using bleach or putting them in the dryer as the color may fade and the cloth may shrink by 10 to 15% after the first wash. Made of 82% rayon and 18% cotton, each set includes two dishcloths – one side charcoal gray and the other aqua blue.
Family Business & History Nawrap originated as a mosquito net manufacturer in 1930, transforming over the years into a producer of exquisite home textiles. Now in its fourth generation, Nawrap is a family business based in Nara, Japan.
Natural Anti-Odor Properties Binchotan charcoal, renowned for its natural purification abilities, has been utilized in Japan since ancient times to cleanse water and air. Infused permanently into the fibers of the dishcloths, the charcoal effectively absorbs odors without washing out.
Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship Crafted in Nara, Japan using traditional Japanese weaving techniques, Nawrap products boast strength, absorbency, and quick-drying properties. They also become increasingly soft with use.
Customer Reviews and Pricing The R.I.B. Dishcloths are highly rated by customers, with a 4.1 out of 5 stars rating. Available at $9.95, these dishcloths come in moss green and charcoal colors, measuring 13.5 x 13.5 inches with 6 plies.
Sustainability Focus Nawrap is committed to sustainability, with small changes in product design leading to lower carbon emissions. The Compact by Design initiative identifies products that are more efficiently designed, reducing the need for excess packaging and shipping.jspb The dishcloths have binchotan charcoal infused into the fibers.
