Binchotan charcoal is effective at absorbing odor, reducing water hardness, and improving the taste of drinking water. Filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours.
Use 1 stick for 2 litres of water; each stick is approximately 0.75 inches to 1 inch (2 centimeters to 2.5 centimeters) in diameter and 4 centimeters (10 centimeters) in length.
Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the most superior grade of charcoal. This charcoal originates from the Kishu region in Japan.
Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry.
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
