This Japanese binchotan charcoal from Tosa, Japan comes with one stick included. Known for its high quality, binchotan charcoal is activated through a high burning temperature and rapid cooling process. This traditional method of purification reduces water hardness, absorbs odor, and enhances the taste of water, making it great for drinking. Each stick can filter up to 2 liters of water, with a filtering time of approximately 3-4 hours.

Each stick is around 0.8" in diameter and 6" in length. To reactivate the charcoal, simply boil for 10 minutes and let it dry every two weeks. It is important not to use the charcoal with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
